Ezra Klein: How big is the bill, really?
March 24, 2010
Ezra Klein of the Washington Post just put out a piece breaking down the numbers on the recent healthcare legislation and urges Americans to consider the reality of what the bill does, for what cost and perhaps more importantly, what it does not do. Read the full story here. Preview below:
"We should start by putting the health-care bill into proper perspective. Opponents and supports of the bill have both profited immensely from exploiting the average person's inability to put billions and trillions into context. So let's begin by breaking down the numbers. The $900 billion price tag is repeated with the regularity of a rooster's crow. That's a shame, as the number is, somewhat impressively, misleading in both directions."

Health care is one of the controversial issue next to global recession, apparently it gathered several controversies and protest for the amount it will require. It may cost a pretty penny for us Americans to get the desired health care system. I hope that in due time proponents will realize that that big amount of health insurance is indeed a major burden for those ordinary people who can't afford for such healthcareneed.
